It was a calm Sunday morning in Maplewood Heights. The streets were still, birds were chirping softly, and most people were easing into their morning routines. But that peace didn’t last long. Out of nowhere, a piercing screech shattered the silence. Startled neighbors looked up from their coffee mugs and hurried to their windows. What they saw made their hearts skip a beat!

High above the houses, a massive eagle was circling the neighborhood, its golden feathers catching the sunlight. Then, without warning, it dove straight down  talons first toward a quiet backyard. Before anyone could react, the eagle had snatched up a small puppy from the grass and soared back into the sky. For a few stunned seconds, no one could move.
